You don't get THESE kind of calls often!
Mar 13 Talk about COINCIDENCE! About 10 days ago, Outlook keeps popping up reminders for me to call Seth Godin, author of the best selling books "The Purple Cow" "The Big Moo" and several more. You can tell how busy I am if I don't have time to call Seth....Yeah Right! The truth of the matter is...he has NO idea who I am and I probably have a better chance of seeing Jesus come back this afternoon than having him take my call. Nevertheless, I was going to try because as Wayne Gretzky was famous for saying..."You miss 100% of the shots you don't take".
I had recently read his book "The Big Moo" and thought it was absolutely awesome! I purchased the audio version of it and I listened to it all the way through two times. The book was actually contributed to by like 32 other brilliant people. I was so inspired by what I read that I decided to make a "maverick" business move and offer Kickstart on a "Pay What You Can" pricing model as opposed to a fixed price of $14.95 a month.
Here's where the incredible coincidence comes in. Two Saturday's ago, I'm at home checking my email and I get one of those emails from PayPal telling me that I have a new subscriber. This was right before we decided to make Kickstart FREE. When I glanced at the name Amit Gupta, I did a double take because it was a very unique name and I became very curious about who it was. I Googled his name of course and to my SHOCK he was one of the co-authors of the book "The Big Moo" and a personal friend of Seth Godin's. What are the chances of that?
We have since spoken via phone and exchanged several emails. Amit even invited us out to San Francisco to tour the hot spots and sit down with me for a Kickstart interview, so stay tuned and I'll introduce you to a very talented human being very soon. Thanks again Amit for your time. I got a tremendous boost of confidence when you told me you thought Kickstart shouldn't be FREE!
