ALRIGHT ALREADY!
Jul 24 So it's been a while since I posted another Blog entry, but I have a REALLY good excuse. Actually I probably have about 17 REALLY good excuses, but I only care about 3 of them.
A great question from a KS subscriber
May 7 One of our subscribers and one of my new friends, Brenda Levos, of www.ineedchocolate.com posted a great question on today's video entitled "Do something about it". Specifically Brenda asked my advice on how to get over the fear of taking risks and going for something.
Thanks so much for the great question Brenda. Be sure to check out this Friday's video. It's going to be called "Take some Risks". I think I'll go into more detail in a future KS video about your question, but here's my simple opinion on this for now. One of my favorite sayings is "Do the thing you fear and the death of fear is certain". The challenge is in mustering up the faith to really do it though, right?
Ever wondered what I might look like when "Star Struck"?
Apr 11 Ok, now this is what I call EXCITING stuff! Think for just a minute about this...if you could meet any single hero of your's, who would it be? Think of your favorite celebrity or sports hero. How cool would it be to get to sit down and talk with them one on one and ask them about anything you wanted?
You don't get THESE kind of calls often!
Mar 13 Talk about COINCIDENCE! About 10 days ago, Outlook keeps popping up reminders for me to call Seth Godin, author of the best selling books "The Purple Cow" "The Big Moo" and several more. You can tell how busy I am if I don't have time to call Seth....Yeah Right! The truth of the matter is...he has NO idea who I am and I probably have a better chance of seeing Jesus come back this afternoon than having him take my call. Nevertheless, I was going to try because as Wayne Gretzky was famous for saying..."You miss 100% of the shots you don't take".
YES...I really did eat breakfast with Hulk Hogan!
Feb 25 Most people don’t believe me when I first tell them that I used to eat breakfast with Hulk Hogan on a regular basis when I was just a kid, but it’s absolutely true. His real name is Terry and he and my Dad and a guy named Paul, actually used to work out together, believe it or not, at a car wash in Cape Canaveral, FL. This was way before he was famous and back then, the soon to be “Hulkster” was just a bouncer at a few of the clubs around town, like Coconuts on the beach. When he wasn’t lifting weights, he was eating breakfast at a world famous restaurant, that we all LOVED but has since closed, called “The Moon Hut”. I remember watching him have to duck when he walked in the restaurant and thinking he was literally a giant. When he sat down he’d look at me and say “Hey there meatball, what you up to?” Isn’t that crazy? Hulk Hogan used to call me “meatball” and I loved it for some reason. He always paid attention to me and made me feel like one of the big guys. If you’ve ever seen his VH1 reality show “Hogan Knows Best”, you have probably seen the softer side of the Hulk. He was always very nice to me.
What’s more important, the start of something or the finish?
Feb 18 Well, that famous cliché says “It’s not how you start, but how you FINISH that really matters.” The challenge for me is that I actually couldn’t disagree with that more. In my humble opinion, just like an “Honorable Mention” is designed to protect the self-esteem of those that almost did good enough to win the trophy or the award; I believe that quote is what we tell people in an effort to console them from the ugly reality of the time or the progress they’ve lost as a result of making bad choices or from getting a bad start. By the way, what exactly is an “Honorable Mention” anyway, and how come I didn’t get one after I lost my first business; I mean I gave it everything I had?
If We Build It...Will They Come? Kickstartmyday.com goes LIVE!
Feb 13 WOW! After all the development, all the planning, all the hard work and the dreaming, the BIG DAY day has finally arrived! Our whole team has worked very hard and we've been asking ourselves the question in the title of this first blog, for months. TODAY is the official launch day of www.KickstartMyDay.com and I suspect it's only a matter of time before we get a pretty solid answer on that question. Regardless, I am absolutely elated and absolutely nervous...all at the same time! Just 36 hours ago as we were preparing for our soft launch, I revealed some of my insecurities to my wife. While we were driving down the road I was in deep thought until I reached over, grabbed her hand and sheepishly said, "Honey, do you still believe Kickstart is going to be a success? I mean do you think that people that don't already know me will actually see the value in a tool like this?" Her silent and strong encouragement is more than I'm able to describe in a blog. The next morning I looked her in the eyes and told her how thankful I was that God had blessed me with her as my wife and how thankful I was for all the times she has been such an encourager to me when I've been weak or when I've had self-doubt.
